If you have sealed diabetic supplies you will never use, you generally have three options: give them away, mail them to an online buyer, or sell them locally to someone who inspects and pays in person. Each has trade-offs, and which one fits depends on how much you have and how quickly you want it handled.
What makes supplies sellable in the first place
Before comparing options, it helps to know what any buyer will look for. In almost every case the requirements are the same:
- The item is factory sealed in its original manufacturer packaging.
- It is unexpired, with a reasonable amount of dating left.
- It was stored at normal room temperature, away from heat and moisture.
- The product name, lot and expiration information are readable.
Mailing your supplies to an online buyer
National mail-in buyers are easy to find. The downside is the sequence: you pack everything, ship it, and then wait for the buyer to inspect it and send payment. If the final offer differs from the estimate, your supplies are already several states away.
Selling locally in person
Selling in person changes the order of events. You get a quote first, you keep your supplies until the inspection, and you watch that inspection happen. If the number does not work for you, you take your boxes home.

How to get started
